Bharat Def-Space Autumn Internship 2026

The Government of India, under the visionary leadership of Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi, has initiated groundbreaking reforms in the space sector. These initiatives are designed to enhance and promote defence & space education, research, and developmentacross the nation.

A key highlight is the celebration of National Space Day on August 23, which underscores India's commitment to fostering innovation and scientific excellence in space exploration. In alignment with the Viksit Bharat Abhiyan@2047 , this programme empowers the next generation of innovators, engineers, and scientists to drive India's defence and space technology ecosystem forward.

Internship Overview

The Bharat Space Education Research Centre is pleased to announce the Def-Space Autumn Internship 2026, a flagship 45-day intensive online initiative under the Def-Space Education and Innovation programme. across the nation.

This programme is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from universities and colleges, both Government and Private, across all recognised institutions.

This structured autumn internship delivers high-quality, hands-on education in Space Science, Defence Technology, and Emerging Technologies to all candidates. It cultivates innovation, technical proficiency, and career awareness among young learners, advancing India's Viksit Bharat @2047 vision and the Atmanirbhar Bharat commitment to technological self-reliance.

Eligibility Criteria

Selection: Merit-based through the Bharat Def-Space Autumn Internship Examination 2026

Who Can Apply: Students from Class VI to XII, B.Tech, M.Tech, PhD, and working professionals with interest in defence technology and space science

Assessment: Technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and genuine passion for innovation and defence/space sectors

Academic Background: All streams welcome - Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Technology enthusiasts

Special Highlight for Meritorious Candidates

Meritorious candidates are required to pay only the examination fee; the training cost for selected candidates will be fully borne by Bharat Space Education Research Centre under the Bharat Def-Space Innovation Corridor for Viksit Bharat Abhiyan @2047.
